Conversations about Investing in Food Systems Transformation: Grounded Investment Company

rex.r.raimondnews

Grounded Investment Company is on a “mission to make regenerative agriculture work economically, at scale for farmers in Africa.”

In a conversation with Thekla Teunis and Gijs Boers (Grounded), Mirjam Niessen (DOEN Participaties), and Omary Ukwengwe (Trianon), we discussed Grounded’s works with agri-processing companies to create positive returns at the intersection of agriculture, livelihoods, and environment.

Grounded’s approach to regeneration includes a range of approaches to community wealth creation, climate resilience, and biodiversity protection, including:

  • Farming to restore soil, water, and biodiversity, sequester carbon, and mitigate climate change.
  • Improving product quality and reducing input costs to improve farmer incomes and market access.
  • Working in partnership with farmers and agri-entrepreneurs to enhance the economic underpinning needed to incentivize the adoption of regenerative agriculture.

TIFS’ conversations on Investing in Food Systems Transformation feature people we admire for the impact they create through entrepreneurship.
